I used Pinterest for vision boards, wishlist and etc. Now, I am using Pinterest to drive traffic back to ThePinkSnob.com. If you didn’t know, Pinterest has over $100 million active users online. Pinterest pushes your content out to users who are searching for something with no brand in mind. For example, let’s say you are a “fashion blogger”, a ton of searches will show up. If you niche down to “black boho fashion blogger”-you might have a better chance in showing up in more feeds. I’ve been able to grow my viewership from 13k to 16k within a few weeks. 4 Ways to use Pinterest to drive traffic to your website.
SEO and Keyword Strategy & Resreach-
Optimization. It’s a strategy that’s here to stay and it’s a vital skill set to have when it comes to the online digital space. SEO is short for Search Engine Optimation, this is the organic traffic you drawback to your website. In order to accomplish this goal, you would then use specific keywords pertaining to the topic you are writing about. This is how SEO and specific keywords work together to reach your target audience.
Think of your Pin as a mini blog post. Use the SEO and Keyword strategy to do this. You can also implement this strategy into your bio page too! The tools I use SEMRush to see trending keywords I can use based around. Another tool I use would be the Pinterest search bar itself. By typing in long-tail keywords, you would be able to view the top searches on that platform. Lastly, when you’ve compiled a list of keywords to use, this is where you would implement.
Tip: Don’t forget the ALT text! Here you would just copy and paste the Pinterest description you’ve written. ALT text is basically the description of the photo.

Here, you want to see what’s working and what’s not on your Pinterest account by checking the analytics. Secondly, you certainly want to focus on outbound clicks and engagements. Outbound clicks display the audience interaction on that particular pin that leads back to your website. Engagements are simply saved pins, re-pins, hearts, and comments.
Tip: Check out the Pins that get pinned by others that you’ve personally posted. More importantly, you would want to re-pin that content to another board on your page or create the same type of content.
Create visual appealing graphics for your Pinterest Pin & Baords-
Use Canva to help you create some amazing graphics. Canva is the perfect tool to promote the Pin and or board. But if that’s not up your alley, make sure the photos you upload are visually appealing. It’s the face of your content to pull in your target audience. Make it pretty!
Post consistently on Pinterest-
Now that you’ve done all the steps above, let’s automate it! The tool I use to complete this task is Tailwind. First, upload your amazing graphics, write up your optimized title and body text. Also, don’t just stop at visually appealing photos, but also upload your reels and tiktok vids. Pinterest also has a story option, be as active as you can on the platform. Re-pin content that’s similar to your or better. Lastly, start off pinning 10-15 or 20-25 pins per day. Check your analytics often to see what works. But most of all, be sure that you will be committed to set aside time to create and schedule this content.
